You Can Make a Difference in the Life of an Orphaned Child

For orphaned youth in countries who do not have the opportunity to live with loving adoptive or foster parents, the future is often bleak. When orphaned children age out or leave an institution, they often have no family or support networks, no marketable job skills, and are often preyed upon by criminals. Sponsoring an orphanage participating is a positive and effective way to help change the life of a child in need and bring hope to his or her entire community. Your support will help save these vulnerable children from lives of destitution, poor health, and exploitation by helping IOFA develop and implement Project Prepare! programs in these countries!

What is the Adopt an Orphanage Program?

By adopting an orphanage for as little as $1 per day you will be connected with an institution in a developing country that is participating in Project Prepare!, a program which assists and supports orphaned children whom are not being adopted. Being a sponsor provides you the opportunity to learn more about another country and build relationships with the children and orphanage staff.

Be Part of Something Extraordinary!

In order to participate you must commit to a minimum of one year of support for $1 per day. When you make a gift, your contributions are pooled with that of others sponsoring the the program at orphanages in a specific country, enabling the orphanages to Project Prepare! With a (minimum) $360 annual contribution, you will receive a Welcome Kit containing information about the country and community in which the orphanage is located, information on children that live in the orphanage, and annual updates on the children supported through your gift.

How Just $30 Per Month Makes a Difference

In many countries, orphaned children spend their life growing up alone in an institution that often struggles to provide food, shelter and clothing to the children. Adopting an Orphanage is an excellent way to make the difference in the life of a child by showing a child that often feels alone and unloved that someone somewhere is taking an interest in their lives and their future.

Why Adopt-an-Orphanage Helps Children Become Independent and Self-Sufficient

The Adopt-an-orphanage campaign support implementation of porgrams (Project Prepare!) that provide opportunities for orphans to become self-reliant and productive young adults active in their community. By Adopting- an-orphanage you are actually supporting community development. Funds that you donate are not used as operating funds for the orphanage, many of which are government funded.

How to Donate

Decide on the best payment plan for you. You can be billed quarterly ($90 every 3 months) or make an annual donation of $360. Payments can be made via check or online via Network for Good.

Donate with check:

  1. Send your payment to IOFA, 4305 N. Lincoln Ave, Suite K, Chicago, IL 60618.
  2. In the memo line, write "Adopt Orphanage" and the country of choice. If you send a check for $90, you will be billed quartlerly.

Online donations:

All transactions are secure; Network for Good is a Better Business Bureau accredited organization accepting online donations on behalf of registered, non-profit charities.
  1. Click on the "Donate Now" button on the left side of this page
  2. Under "Donation Preference," choose if you would like to be billed monthly ($30 minimm), quarterly ($90 minimum), or one annual payment ($360 minimum)
  3. Under "Designation," type in "Adopt Orphanage Ethiopia," "Adopt Orphanage Russia, or "Adopt Orphanage General Funds."
  4. Please include your name and address so we can send you a thank you letter for your tax-exempt donation, and an Adopt and Orphanage Welcome Kit.

How is the Program Administered?

The Adopt-an-Orphanage program is administered by the International Organization for Adolescents (IOFA), a US based nonprofit charitable organization with 501 (c)(3) status. All donations are tax deductible. You will receive a letter for every donation thanking you for your support. To help empower orphan youth, IOFA does not use its limited resources to track individual orphans. Instead, your gift will support IOFA's mission and goals for implementing and supporting Project Prepare! in Russia and Ethiopia.
