Building Child Welfare Response To Child Trafficking Project
In partnership with Loyola University Chicago’s Center for the Human Rights of Children, IOFA designed this project to strengthen the ability of child welfare providers and child protection workers to identify child trafficking victims and to ensure that child trafficking victims in Illinois receive appropriate protection and recovery services. IOFA provides specialized training and expert consultation to child welfare providers and child protection workers on all issues related to building response mechanisms for child victims of trafficking. Additionally, IOFA developed a comprehensive handbook for child welfare providers who may serve victims of trafficking.

Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking
IOFA has been subcontracted to assist with the development and facilitation of a new task force model to combat human trafficking. The Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force is a unique, multi-disciplinary task force that brings Cook County law enforcement and non-governmental service providers together to proactively investigate human trafficking crimes and provide comprehensive service to victims. IOFA helps facilitate the task force and is developing a coordinated social service referral network for adult and minor victims of sex and labor trafficking identified by task force members.

Illinois Trafficking Outreach and Victim Identification Project
IOFA partners with the Rescue and Restore Coalition of Illinois to build the capacity of Illinois law enforcement, nongovernmental organizations, and the broader community to respond to human trafficking. By training law enforcement agencies to properly identify victims, and by creating coordinated systems for social and legal service delivery, IOFA aims to radically improve the community’s response to human trafficking.

The IOFA Training Institute
Considered a pioneer in the development of anti-trafficking efforts, IOFA provides consultations for government and private organizations in need of training and assistance with prevention and response efforts for vulnerable adolescents.
